How this calculator works
The calculator compares two positions side-by-side. On your current residence the dividend rate you enter is applied to your gross dividend income. On the Cyprus non-dom side the dividend pays 0% Special Defence Contribution (non-dom status exempts it) and the only Cyprus-side cost is a capped 2.65% General Healthcare System (GHS) contribution on passive income up to €180,000 of insurable earnings. The difference is the annual cash saving. Multiplied by 17 (the standard non-dom window), it becomes the lifetime saving.
The figures assume you qualify for Cyprus tax residency (either the 183-day rule or the 60-day rule) and are not Cyprus-domiciled. They are indicative only — your actual bill depends on your full situation, including whether you retain other foreign tax obligations. We confirm the numbers in writing on the free consultation.
Questions we get on this calculator
Is non-dom status automatic once I move to Cyprus?
No. You claim it when you register as a Cyprus tax resident, by declaring you are not domiciled in Cyprus. It lasts 17 years within any 20-year period, so long as you do not become Cyprus-domiciled in the meantime.
Does the 0% apply to foreign-source dividends too?
Yes. A non-dom Cyprus tax resident pays 0% Cyprus Special Defence Contribution on worldwide dividends, interest and rental income — whether from Cyprus companies or foreign ones.
What about my home country — does it still tax me?
Only if you are still resident there, or within a post-departure "tail" some countries impose. The calculator shows savings assuming a clean exit; this guide covers the exit rules per country.
